Arsis parts ways with singer

Friday, August 31, 2007 10:41 AM PT

Arsis has announced the departure of vocalist Mike Parks, who had been filling in for guitarist/singer James Malone on vocals. Here's a statement from the band:

"When James' voice went out a couple tours ago, Mike did us the biggest favor by joining and replacing James on vocals. I know I speak for everyone in Arsis when I say we couldn't imagine anyone else doing a better job. He sacrificed a lot to do this with us. If anyone owes him the amount of respect we do, it's the fans.

As shitty as it might be, we felt that with the new album right around the corner, we needed to move on with Arsis in the Arsis way -- with James back on vocals. We wish him nothing but the best, as we'll always be friends."

Meanwhile, the group will enter the studio on September 3rd to begin tracking their next album for Nuclear Blast Records.

Was that the bald dude with the piercings? Ive seen arsis like 3 fckin times, usually pretty shitfaced tho. Drank sum beers with one of the guitar players and their bass player that looks like david spade

the only thing Arsis has ever disappointed me with was the live show

So the dude screamed until his voice gave out for a few years, and now he's going to start screaming again? Does he -want- to be mute? :(

im all for james malone singing AND playing those ridiculous sweeps at the same time....

James Malone should stick to guitar and songwriting -- his vocals are always sort of weak live.

I saw these guys on the NO CARE EVER tour, wait ...no I didn't.

I don't if I should be excited or worried. His voice is just going to flake once again.

I just hope they push this release to it's limits. Their first disc is the best thing they've put out. Everything else has been solid, but not too much more than that.

Ha, maybe James' brother Karl can do some guest vocals.

i'm glad that bald dude isnt actually part of the band. all he did was air guitar the whole set.

little worried about the new cd since all the members contributed instead of james doing all the work (minus the drums)

'dude was a gay anyways. james malone is a way better vocalist. james malone is god' -James Malone

9/1/2007 3:56:22 PM
maybe they can get dutchstep to sing for them

9/2/2007 4:03:08 PM

9/2/2007 4:06:51 PM
seen em with both guys singing. never dissapoints. this band can do no wrong. gays

Nah, d-bags. They're a band now. James and Ryan Knight wrote songs for the new album. As far as I know, they didn't write the drums or bass parts. That's what I heard Noah did on United in Regret.

Plus, anyone who isn't retarded knows that James used older material on United in Regret, so the logical flow of their musical direction would be United, CoG, D4D, then the new one.
