I'm sick of Zao riding on the coat tails of attempted mass murderer band As I Lay Dying. Find your own thing. Hire your own hitmen. Kill your own families.

Will this have the American Idol clean vocals that AILD does tho?

10/16/2019 1:53:41 PM
I'm into it.

"how are they throwing money away? this will sell out the day it goes for sale, easy."

Being stoked you can sell 500 CDs is a new low.

they do this stuff all the time with handmade limited stuff.
selling 500 premium priced collector pieces directly to your fans with no label taking a cut is absolutely a good move.
they put their other stuff out in wider release, the singles and stuff are always limited and are usually gone in a day

Last time zao headlined and had 500 people was almost 20 years ago

anonymous

The band will easily make more selling this release than AILD had on their royalty cut on the 9000 or whatever copies that nuclear blast sold that probably didn't even pay for the ads

this AILD vs ZAO argument is stupid anyway since i don't think either band aspires to be what the other one is in any capacity. Aside from maybe playing some bills together or being friends, there is virtually nothing that either band has done that implies they are even remotely similar on career or artistic aspirations
did you ever stop to think that maybe bands LIKE to keep things small and in their control and not have to do ridiculous amounts of touring just to pay their mortgage?

Anyone genuinely having this argument needs to die.

AILD and Zao are NOT friends. Zao fcking hate AILD. Hate, hate, hate! They know Jebus doesn't like posers. And they are ready to fight them, tooth and nail.

anonymous

Dan was on a AILD album, Tim produced a Zao album, they have toured together and Jeff from Zao played on some Austrian Death Machine stuff. Not sure Zao hates AILD

This news bit leaves out some key details. They're splitting up the physical release over CD, cassette, vinyl and NES cartridge. I'm not making that up. NES ZAO release.

I think web.by forgot include that preview.

anonymous

So what was the connection between Zao and Creation is Crucifiction? I know CiC hacked some GameBoy games back in the day. Maybe they are the ones creating the Zao NES cartridge?

anonymous
10/16/2019 5:31:15 PM
Will there be a new member?

anonymous
10/16/2019 5:39:55 PM
Scott was in CiC prior to Zao

there hasn't been a "new" zao member since 2005

Yeah, that's exactly the same as Blink 182 selling 90,000 copies of "Anema of the State" per week during 1999.

Wrong, Zao hates them.

blink 182 is not christian death metal. apples and oranges.

Zao isn't Christian either

Zao, a free deepfake face-swapping app that's able to place your likeness into scenes from hundreds of movies and TV shows after uploading just a single photograph, has gone viral in China. ... In case you haven't heard, #ZAO is a Chinese app which completely blew up since Friday.

anonymous

"did you ever stop to think that maybe bands LIKE to keep things small and in their control and not have to do ridiculous amounts of touring just to pay their mortgage?"

Sure, but at least have the decency to not look like you're selling shit at a flea market and put some thought into your touring so that more than 10 people show up.

anonymous
10/17/2019 10:24:22 AM
^ some of the fore-written board posters are the kind of people that will sit in front of a door and argue with the doorknob for not turning the way they personally were expecting.

Zaos best incarnation was the liberate album and the subsequent tours that followed. The album before that is meh...Zao climax was liberate and you guys all know this.

Also AILD is doing good, brushed off all the drama and now about to get a grammy for best metal act this year.

if you are selling it out who cares (and they do) and these look awesome. Way more though into this than putting out an unlimited amount of shit in a digipack at best buy. don't think they care who shows up, they have already said "we play when and where we want" they have made no secrets that they are perfectly happy existing where they are. you know there was a time where hardcore and metal bands did stuff that wasn't about playing at house of blues. but you weren't alive then

anonymous
10/17/2019 12:01:37 PM
a bunch of dudes sitting in their basement criticizing somebody for doing something that they didn't think of. and if they did it, wouldn't even sell those. put up or shut up

Zao is like a pair of old wool pants. You forget about them in the back of your closet. And when you rediscover them and put them on, you get an itchy crotch and a nasty rash on your ass. Can't sit down or stop scratching for weeks. But you always come back to them eventually. You secretly like it.

Oh wow! this is the gayest thing I've seen all year.

anonymous
10/17/2019 6:29:55 PM
What creation album would that be? No such thing

anonymous
10/17/2019 10:24:08 PM
No more than 600 cuz they can't sell more than 600 of each format or they'd offer more. Why not an even 1000?

'Love the artificial merch sellouts.

anonymous
10/18/2019 3:59:54 AM
If they sell 600 out that fast they probably COULD sell a lot more over time. Seems they don't want to. They keep regular albums in print. Side releases they treat as limited runs

anonymous
10/18/2019 5:03:16 AM
Yeah meanwhile nuclear blast and metal blade have warehouses full of AILD albums that they have to pay to store and spend thousands on ads to try to move

anonymous
10/18/2019 5:23:15 AM
^ wrong. i run a fork lift in the mb warehouse. splatter run and restocks flew off the shelves. So did basically any AILD merch we had left.

anonymous
10/18/2019 6:07:29 AM
meanwhile Mortal Treason is out there still yelling "HAIL JESUS, HAIL CHRIST"

anonymous
