Clutch keyboardist Mick Schauer dies

One-time Clutch keyboardist Mick Schauer passed away over the weekend. Further details have yet to be disclosed.

Schauer was a member of from 2005 to 2008 and played on the band's Robot Hive/Exodus (2005) and From Beale Street to Oblivion (2007) albums.

Clutch had the following to say:

"We are saddened to hear the news of Mick Schauer's passing. Mick was an incredible talent and he will be missed. His contribution to the albums Robot Hive Exodus and From Beale Street to Oblivion brought a new sound to the band at a time when the band sought to stretch into new territory. Mick helped us to achieve those goals and more. He was also a powerful force at our live shows. His natural ability was unmatched and his love for the music made us all play better. We are grateful for having had the opportunity to make music with you Mick!"

Their live shows with him were incredibly insane. It was common to see a dude in the middle of the pit just getting his nice sucked by a some chick and then she would whip out her t-ts. I remember a lot of the time he would progam a lot of samples into his keys and hit them during breaks downs. The samples were just homeless people saying words like "sage" and "gay" he'd speed those up and the sold out crowd (approx. 2000) would howl with laughter. He will be missed. RIP

Plenty of further details have been released, but god forbid Donovan do any kind of a search whatsoever on the Internet.

Did you guys know Jack Nicholson helped clean up the Manson murders before Roman Polanski got home?
