Underoath album debuts in Top 20

Tuesday, April 17, 2018 9:19 AM PT

Erase Me, the first album in eight years from Florida rock band Underoath, has debuted at No. 16 on the Billboard 200 chart and No. 4 on the Top Albums Sales chart, selling roughly 21,000 copies in its first week of release in the United States.

The showing is very similar to that of the band's previous album, Ø (Disambiguation) (2010), which sold 24,000 copies in its debut week and bowed at No. 23 on the Billboard 200.

Going back further, Underoath's 2008 album, Lost in the Sound of Separation, debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 on the strength of 56,000 in first-week sales.

Underoath's most successful debut occurred in 2006, when their Define the Great Line album landed at No. 2 on the aforementioned chart after selling nearly 100,000 copies in its first week.

Aaron Gillespie is a great guy. Very humble and always has time for the fans. A lot of people say he is a conceited piece of shit but I say prove it. I've had nothing but stellar interactions with him. Wow, he is great and he doesn't deserve to get dragged out into the street and have his ass beat in front of a large group of people. Good times.

Aaron Gillespie smells like old country ham, smothered in sour cream and left out in the sun for two weeks.
