Century Media publishing catalog sold

Wednesday, June 7, 2017 10:13 AM PT

Century Media has sold their publishing catalog to Reservoir Media, reports Billboard. The deal involves roughly 9,000 songs from 350 songwriters, including works by such bands as Arch Enemy, Suicide Silence, Deicide, and Shadows Fall.

"This acquisition of Century Media's publishing arms reaffirms our commitment to diversifying our music catalog and expanding Reservoir's international offerings," Reservoir COO Rell Lafargue said. "We look forward to welcoming Century Media's songwriters into the Reservoir family."

"Century Media has been a pioneer in metal for years," said Reservoir senior VP of creative and A&R Hussain "Spek" Yoosuf. "I'm a fan and am excited to work with these writers and build upon the incredible foundations they've already established."

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Sony Music acquired Century Media's record label along with its recorded masters in 2015.

Deicide is super-stoked to be working with Arabs.

They bought the catalog. No one will be working with the songwriters. To deicide or not to deicide. Fire sale on the cheap.

Someone doesn't understand what publishing is nor the fact it's not the same company who owns the masters
