In Flames bassist quits band

Tuesday, November 29, 2016 8:45 AM PT

After nearly two decades as a member of In Flames, bass player Peter Iwers has announced his departure from the band. Iwers has issued the following:

"I have decided to leave In Flames to pursue other endeavours. As a result, this current US tour will be my last one with In Flames so if you are around, come and say hi. It has been almost 20 years of fun and I am eternally grateful to you all for all the support you have given me and the rest of the guys throughout all these years. You made it all possible. Now is the time for me to move on with other musical and non musical adventures. I wish the very best to Niclas, Anders, Björn and Joe. Hope to see all you Jesterheads down the road in my future endeavors. Follow my instagram @peteriwers for updates. May the force be with you."

Could it have anything to do with the band sounding like Fallout Boy now?

That new Abigail Williams track sounds like Deafheaven

Yes. It has a lot to do with this band being absolute trash now. Sucks.

It's mind-boggling the songs this band has off The Jester Race that are never played.

The band has been in a downward spiral since he joined. Maybe they will get better. Doubt it...

"Honestly, I finally just realized that waiting til you're in your 40's to start trying to be the hip new wave radio rock band all the young kids are boppin really isn't the best strategy." - Peter Iwers

Every time I read the word Jesterheads, I cringe a thousand hatchetmen.

When I read this statement I laughed out loud and accidentally dropped my drink
on the computer keyboard thought he joined "Cute is what we aim for"

Man, I remember when this band was good...the year was 2003 and we were all still in High School. Then they stopped repping their true hometown and started becoming an extremely shitty Rage Against The Machine cover band. The joys of Nuclear Blast Records.

This one time me and Donkeylips collected everyone's spare change to buy hamburgers for the camp. Everyone distracted Ugg as we snuck up the camp road to collect our delicious prized hamburgers

always hated the Jesterhead thing. Like wtf does a jester have to do with ANYTHING this band was about at the time they started using that logo?
