Within The Ruins cancel tour due to health issues

Tuesday, April 22, 2014 8:04 AM PT

On Sunday, we reported that Within The Ruins frontman Tim Goergen was in the hospital. The good news is that Goergen will be released tomorrow. The bad news is that he will have to stay off the road until he's fully recovered. As such, the band has been forced to formally drop off the remainder of their current run with Whitechapel, Carnifex, and Cruel Hand. Here's the official word:

"Unfortunately, at this point we have no other option but to withdraw from the remaining dates of the Whitechapel tour. Tim will be released tomorrow, but due to the seriousness of his condition he has been advised not to engage in any strenuous activity while recovering over the next few weeks. We apologize to any fans that were looking forward to seeing us, but Tim's health comes first. We WILL be back out this summer in support of our forthcoming album. The rest of the shows are still happening so be sure to make it out and support our friends in Whitechapel, Carnifex and Cruel Hand. See you all this summer!"

touring doesnt equate to strenuous activity. he has the stage presence of a statue, he would have been alright

Coke off a merch girls TITTIE? WTF. My mother buys me protein shakes and I'll usually share 1 or 2 with some of our merch girls after doing a killer set. They sellout many of our Unearth designs nightly so it's the least I can do. This kid can still do the band thing, but he needs to get back in with his parents for 2-3 yrs. minimum.

Thank you -Ken.
