Arsis drummer quits band

Wednesday, April 04, 2012 7:19 AM PT

Arsis drummer (and founding member) Mike Van Dyne has apparently quit the group (again). Blabbermouth reports that Van Dyne has issued the following statement:

"After five label releases and hundreds of shows in 19 countries, it's time to move forward and pursue my career full-time. The last fully-completed Arsis song I contributed to was 'Since The Shadows' (released online last year), and it's one of my favorites. Through the years, I've accomplished everything in music I wanted to do. Not many people can say that, and I consider myself fortunate for having so many great experiences."

Van Dyne first left Arsis in 2007 before rejoining in 2009.

Making a great career decision. More musicians should quit and get real jobs and be miserable like the rest of us.

Dyne is a an amazing drummer, but arsis has severely gone down hill since days of Celebration of Guilt. To listen to current Arsis tunes, puts a tear in my eye no longer do i have boners for arsis.
