Rise Records signs Crown The Empire

Friday, March 23, 2012 6:32 PM PT

Official press release:

Dallas, TX's Crown The Empire have signed with Rise Records. Details for their debut full-length will be announced shortly.

The official music video for their song "Voices" can be viewed here:

Crown The Empire is a 7-piece band from Dallas TX. Starting in 2010, the band set out with a goal to separate themselves in a genre often cluttered with copy-cat bands. They combined their love for the hardcore genre with infectious, loud, and powerful choruses of generations before their own, and ultimately created a fresh new approach to heavier music. Combined with an equal drive to connect with every last one of their fans, they hope to use whatever notoriety they receive to spread a simple message of belief in yourself, and hope in others. Their debut EP "Limitless" released in November of 2011 furthers this idea of zero boundaries on what you're capable of, and has even spawned the name for their fans: "The Limitless."

Crown The Empire is geared up for an even more impressive 2012. Armed with new music, new members, and an unrivaled work ethic, the band hopes to take over the hardcore scene, and eventually become one of the major players in rock and roll. Never forgetting that they too are "Limitless", Crown The Empire is a force that shows no signs of stopping.

They're doing an excellent job at "seperating themselves from copy cat bands" with all that auto tune and weak keyboard filler. For fcks sake!

wow dude. this shit is getting ridiculous now. just stop. rise needs to make a sublabel for heavy bands since all they do is sign this garbage anymore.

anonymous
3/24/2012 6:11:47 AM

anyone notice how press releases for rise bands are always the same for every different metalcore band they sign and that every different metalcore band they sign are all the same. like fck, stopppppppppppppp. People arent stupid, they can see that these bands aren't timeless. its like rise runs their record label like congress runs america. they treat us like babies, thinking we dont know better and force shit down peoples throat. eat shit and die eat shit and die eat shit and die

This sounds like every band ive heard fir the last 7 years. I hope this dudes all fall down a well.

anonymous
3/24/2012 7:37:47 AM
why is the word "hardcore" used in this news bit? there is nothing remotely hardcore about this band.

anonymous
3/24/2012 7:46:54 AM
word of advice: stop basing your songs on open E chug breakdown riffs. it gets old real quick. oh yeah...get rid of those annoying keyboards.

anonymous
3/24/2012 8:06:39 AM
Im from dallas and ive never even heard of these guys..

3/24/2012 10:27:15 AM
You do not need seven people to play metalcore.

God i hate bands.

3/24/2012 11:02:38 AM
fckers broke my boner

3/24/2012 11:14:33 AM
Nothing but steers and queers in TX, and this band sure as hell aren't steers

3/24/2012 11:30:16 AM
That was a rather pretentious read.

3/24/2012 12:51:40 PM
I watched the video until the 1st predictable breakdown. The comments are WAY more funny than this band of shemales.

3/24/2012 4:04:19 PM
So they didn't want to be like all those other "copy-cat bands"? What happened? because they sound EXACTLY like all those other shitty bands. Not an ounce of originality.

anonymous
3/24/2012 4:42:15 PM
why? why. fck. I would respect it if they did something different and it came out shitty. Underoath is the only band that can financially support 6+ members.

anonymous
3/24/2012 5:06:27 PM
i cant believe how terrible this band is....did i accidentally wake up in 2002 again? rise has totally lost their shit

3/24/2012 7:55:26 PM
set out with a goal to separate themselves in a genre often cluttered with copy-cat bands.

every other one of these "copy-cat" bands said the exact same thing in their signing announcement. the biggest fcking joke ever told.

anonymous

This band is fcking shit.
Good job on signing another terrible Rise Records

BoA Trainee: "Hey, who's that skinny weird guy that walks in every Monday with a hundred checks for 500 dollars each?"
BoA Teller: "Oh, that's Joey Sturgis. You'll get used to it."

craig (Rise)is a c-cky gay and signs bands to make money from a target audience of 14 year olds equipped with daddy's money. the fact that anyone is surprised by this anymore is almost more shocking than the signing of this band. there were so many better choices though, Rise.

the fck? i remember having to see this band a few times as well, since i'm from dallas, last time was at that winter jamboree shit and i guess they kicked out a lot of their members cause if i remember correctly they had some fat scene dude on keys and two tiny ass scene guys on vocals. i can't believe they got signed but once i realized it was rise i pretty much understood why.

Sad Sad that all these Dallas Texas RocknRoll Fans can't be a little proud of this local rock band. All members only 18 ,19, and 20 making a name for themselves. These guys came on the local scene and lived breathed the local Dallas scene. Spent hours and hours getting to know and love all their fans.fck all you haters! Dallas Bands Rule! So does Crown The Empire! You all should be ashamed!

3/27/2012 7:28:50 AM
at least the dude from rise is making money off these bands, gotta hand it to him he's carved a pretty narrow niche market that 15 year olds love

anonymous
3/27/2012 10:04:58 AM
vanflip. hopefully like 12 members will die and they will be a normal sized band

anonymous
3/29/2012 1:05:37 AM
I hope it's a chainsawflip, a garbagedisposalflip or something particularly grewsome for these special gays.

anonymous

Man, people be hating! A new band and you won't even give them a chance! If you guys would actually listen to some of their songs they don't use auto tune or wear eyeliner. I'm just saying don't hate on a band just by one song, plus they already have a good future in front of them unlike most of you guys. Crown has my respects

Wow it's so lame how into it people are getting with the trash talk. They've done some hard work and it's paying off. Why can't people just accept it and move on? Grow up people..

anonymous
12/19/2012 4:24:01 PM
Okay...over the past few months this has become my favorite metal band!!!! Okay yeah this isnt the best work they have done acually this is my east favorite song of CTE just because of the auto tune......And yes when i first saw them i was like damn how many people do u need to make a band. But seriously talking shit like tht...be mature!
I just got the fallout Cd and its awesome !!! Don't hate appreciate$$$

anonymous
12/21/2012 11:24:17 PM
EVERYONE. Quit being a little bitch and stop hating. Don't like them? So fck off. They're actually pretty good and I would love to see any one of you haters do better. If you don't like their sound, what good are you doing yourself by saying shit? You're not. If any of you had an ounce of un-jerk-ness in your body you would be able to pick out the good things instead of bad. Cause THEY ARE ACTUALY PRETTY AHH-fckING-MAZING. And you don't have to be a 15 year old girl to see that. Damn.

anonymous
1/30/2013 12:39:46 AM
Lol you guys are dumbasses. They're a great band. Why don't you actually try listening to a song that isn't just voices. All there other songs aren't all autotuned and if you listen to Wake Me Up acoustic (with no auto tune and just a guitar) he has an amazing voice!

"Why? What is it that separates em' from all the other local hardcore DFW bands?" THEY KNEW HOW THE MUSIC BUSINESS WORKS. It doesn't matter how pretentious you are. It's all image. It's 70% business and 30% music. So what if they blew up and y'all didn't? Even though I think their music is absolute garbage, there is a market out there for it. They were smart to pursue it.
