Monday, December 13, 2010 11:48 AM PT

As expected, Between The Buried And Me will be recording a new EP this month. The group is currently in Toronto, Canada and will track the material during the next ten days with engineer/producer David Bottrill at the helm. In addition to winning three Grammys, Bottrill has produced several notable releases, including Tool's Aenima, King Crimson's Thrak, and Muse's Origin of Symmetry.

According to the band, "a half hour of new music" will be recorded.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

12/13/2010 12:53:02 PM
Jamie King is not stoked, hahahaha. The only decent albums he ever put out were BTBAM's, everything else he records is waaaaaay too dry.

12/13/2010 1:00:18 PM
ive never heard of a NC band not recording at bastufft studios with Jamie King, this is strange and intriguing

12/13/2010 1:02:20 PM
I hope it is one big epic 30-minute song!!! Will be odd with a new producer but I know it will be amazing!! This, new Protest The Hero, new The Human Abstract, and new Opeth are my top awaited announced releases for next year so far...

12/13/2010 1:03:33 PM
What's funnier is this EP will be longer than many full-lengths!!! Finally an EP that doesn't feel like a ripoff!!

12/13/2010 1:08:31 PM
Unnecessary news is stoked

Jamie King is not stoked, hahahaha. The only decent albums he ever put out were BTBAM's, everything else he records is waaaaaay too dry. The Advent album he recorded was really well done.

*Listens to Pig Destroyer*

12/13/2010 2:30:39 PM
GREAT! The majority of Jamie King's records sound like complete shit.

12/13/2010 2:35:42 PM
^agreed.

12/13/2010 2:41:27 PM
@xburnfacex Hipsters? I've never met a hipster that listens to BTBAM, and I come from he mecca of hipsters here in LA.

12/13/2010 3:30:16 PM
when i saw them on cool tour, only hipsters and drunk white guys were moshing.

12/13/2010 3:33:36 PM

"when i saw them on cool tour, only hipsters and drunk white guys were moshing." Uh, that is probably the problem there. You saw them on cool tour where 98% of the crowd was hipsters.

12/13/2010 3:47:41 PM
this is just going to be the first track off the new album

12/13/2010 3:54:15 PM
Break up this gay band and get Prayer for Cleansing back together...

12/13/2010 4:28:55 PM
horrible news. this band is awful

12/13/2010 4:56:48 PM
Hipster is an overused term, and you 2 are both probably talking about completely different "hipsters". Guys with girls pants and dyed black swoop hair are not hipsters.

12/13/2010 6:23:52 PM
Yeah with enough soap you can blow up just about anything.

12/13/2010 6:43:18 PM
Glasscasket is NOT stoked

12/13/2010 6:48:24 PM
can't say I'm that surprised, most of these new "prog" bands are in a phase of Tool Worship. I'm just curious to hear them with a different producer other than Jamie King and Matthew Ellard

12/13/2010 7:29:35 PM
more bluegrass country yeehaw interludes please ... this har is Betweeen the barrrreed and me

12/13/2010 9:02:46 PM
this will be half a song, and will consist of two clapping sections, one section with some mellow keyboards, another section with some folk chanting, and finally in their most prog move ever tommy farting into the mic for a full 10 minutes

12/13/2010 9:23:09 PM
i am excited about this

12/13/2010 10:48:45 PM
hey tomdelay.. he ain't fartin on no snare drum

12/14/2010 12:12:10 AM
Jamie King is not the best producer, Adam D would make this band sick.

12/14/2010 12:51:37 AM
wrong! adam d would make this band sound WORSE than jamie king does

12/14/2010 1:31:43 AM
pointless news, but this will be great.

12/14/2010 1:40:43 AM
woah, I ain't fartin on no snare drum. (closet gays are stoked. people that discuss the definition of hipster are not stoked) adam sandler may/may not be stoked

12/14/2010 4:15:10 AM
LOL, I've always been curious how they would sound if they worked with Michael Keene from the Faceless or perhaps Zeuss...

12/14/2010 8:48:14 AM
Just record with the Porcupine Tree dude that recorded the Opeth double release already.

12/14/2010 11:45:13 AM
Oh hey BTBAM. Give me a call if you want to get nachos. God, a whole mess of nachos sounds good right now. Biiiiiicycle. Biiiiiiicycle.

12/14/2010 11:59:15 AM
Ahhh yes, they are pulling a Korn/Slipknot. Hopefully King won't be as upset as Ross Robinson was.

12/14/2010 12:01:30 PM
HBDad, I hope that was a joke. Zuess is a overrated hack.

12/14/2010 12:18:41 PM
I've always liked these guys since their self titled, which is still their best, but i will check this out.

12/14/2010 1:56:07 PM
"when i saw them on cool tour, only hipsters and drunk white guys were moshing." "Uh, that is probably the problem there. You saw them on cool tour where 98% of the crowd was hipsters." and hardcore kids.

12/14/2010 3:55:16 PM
Bottrill just produced my friends band Nikki's Trick and it sounds great

12/14/2010 7:24:10 PM
I ain't fartin on no snare drum..... Funniest thing I've ever read on lambgoat! Oh ya looking forward to this.

12/14/2010 7:31:37 PM
xmusicislifex 12/13/2010 12:24:31 PM Jamie King is not stoked

12/14/2010 11:48:34 PM
I can assure you BTBAM is not trying to be Tool. Newsflash douch bags!!! They're prog metal, get over it. They're not gonna be putting out non stop brutal albums anymore, thank god. You all loathe anything that is different and its sad

12/15/2010 1:45:45 AM
"In addition to winning three Grammys, Bottrill has produced several notable releases, including Tool's Aenima, King Crimson's Thrak, Muse's Origin of Symmetry, and Nikki's Trick."

glad to see this band realizing jamie king was shitting their potential down a well. maybe this band will finally take off and get noticed!
