Death By Stereo signs w/ Serjical Strike Recs

Monday, April 06, 2009 2:58 PM PT

California punk sound-shifters Death By Stereo has announced a new full-length, "Death is My Only Friend," for July 14th release. The album will be released by Serjical Strike Records, headed by label President Serj Tankian. Commenting on the signing, Tankian explained: "As someone who appreciates Death By Stereo and what they've done over the years, when I found out that the band was looking for a new label partner, I immediately approached them about the possibility of signing to Serjical Strike. "They are an amazing band that has always impressed me with their musicianship, honesty and work ethic. Their latest album is one that I am very happy to be a part of as I feel it is their best yet."

The new effort was produced by Jason Freese (Green Day) and mixed by Jay Baumgardener (Linkin Park) at NRG Studios). Death By Stereo guitarist Dan Palmer described the new album: "We cover all ends of the musical spectrum with this album. There are songs with blast beats and songs with no guitars at all."

Death By Stereo have previously released their last three albums on Epitaph Records. The group is currently on tour in Europe and will hit the road in North American with Strung Out later this spring. Dates announced thus far include:

If Green Day, Linkin Park, and the singer of System of a Down are ever mentioned in the same article as your "metal" band, you should probably fcking kill yourself.
