Century Media signs Stick To Your Guns

Thursday, January 10, 2008 1:49 PM PT

Official press release:

Century Media Records has announced the signing of Stick To Your Guns to its worldwide roster. The Southern-California based quintet have just completed work on their much-anticipated new full-length offering, "Comes From The Heart," with acclaimed producer Zeuss (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall), which is currently set for a spring 2008 release. The album is crushing with diversity, with something for everyone. It has everything you could possibly need, from giant melodic singing choruses, to intense fast beats with devastating guitar riffs.

Casey Lagos (drums) further comments: "We are so grateful for this opportunity to work with Century Media and be part of their historical roster. They have already showed us great love and integrity. Robert (owner) and Ray (A&R Rep) have actually come out to our shows years back just because they liked what we were doing. They actually care about the band, know our songs and what we’re about, and we think that is really important. We're really excited for the future, and proud to be part of the family."

Jesse Barnett (vocals) states: "We just finished recording with Zeuss and it has been a dream of ours to work with him since we in our early teens. He is so awesome at what he does and we are so happy with how it turned out. It was just Casey and I who went to the studio, because we do all the writing/recording. We put a lot of work into it and have been writing it over the course of the last couple years. We are really excited for every to hear it."

Lagos states "We are taking the month of January off to recoup. We will hit the road in February headlining secondary markets, which leads us into a tour with our great friends in As Blood Runs Black throughout March and April. We also got some major summer touring plans in the works, in addition to dates in Australia and Europe, so stay tuned to www.myspace.com/styg for our complete touring itinerary."

The band recorded their debut album, "For What It's Worth," in 2005 on This City Is Burning Records. Over the course of the next two years the band built its name through relentless touring, which led to Sumerian Records buying the rights to "For What It's Worth" and re-releasing the album to a new and expanded audience in 2007. The band continued their rigorous touring schedule to support the effort, further building their legions of diehard fans.

'with something for everyone' translation: with no coherent style. Appeal to everyone= appeal to no one.

1/10/2008 5:47:30 PM
obviously no one on here gets around much. I think I've seen more people wearing those "MOVE" hoodies than any other single piece of merch. Don't like this band, but good move Century Media; STYG will sell albums.

ear_to_ear 1/10/2008 5:47:30 PM I think I've seen more people wearing those "MOVE" hoodies than any other single piece of merch. I think i'm glad i've NEVER seen one of those hoodies anywhere around here, ever.

1/10/2008 7:30:32 PM

1/11/2008 5:04:28 PM
first post!!!!

1/11/2008 6:33:08 PM
due to this, "because we do all the writing/recording." we can expect many line up changes followed by a break up because of the " i'm better than everyone else in the band" mentality

1/11/2008 6:50:06 PM
i find it funny how there is a posting announcing CM signing Stick To Your Guns, followed by a posting announcing Behemoth leaving CM. lol. but srsyl, congrats to styg

1/11/2008 11:32:57 PM
"It was just Casey and I who went to the studio, because we do all the writing/recording." hahah what a fcking scumbag. fck this band.

1/13/2008 8:32:25 AM
It's cause one guy was c-cky & nobody liked him, another guy loved used crease/booze/pot, & one dude just up and quit. Jesse and Casey have some integrity. Creative band. CM CEO will be buying boats and bathing in cash.

1/13/2008 10:38:03 AM
Does anyone on this site actually like anything?

1/14/2008 3:53:30 AM
this scene trend will be over when another gay half ass group of tools figure out a new verb to print on a hoodie

1/14/2008 3:45:14 PM
I'm wondering the same.... what's everyone's fcking problem, if you hate all these bands, shut up and quit whining, go listen to some Backstreet Boys if you're so hard up for labeling gay bands.
