Decapitated signs with Nuclear Blast Records

Polish death metal band Decapitated has officially signed with Nuclear Blast Records. Formed in 1996, the group had previously released four albums with Earache Records. The announcement comes less than two weeks after the death of Decapitated drummer Witold Kieltyka. Nuclear Blast has issued the following: "We're looking forward to the upcoming mix of technical superiority, brutal riffs and blastbeats on album number five. The joy over these awesome news are of course overshadowed by the tragic death of drummer Witold 'Vitek' Kieltyka. Vitek passed away on November 3rd in a Russian hospital due to severe head injuries resulting from a heavy car crash involving the band's tour bus and a truck while touring Russia. The highly respected and acclaimed blastbeat maestro was only 23 years old. Rest in peace, Vitek!"

rick_tocchet 11/14/2007 1:45:15 PM

just a little bump in the road was the death of our drummer.

se7en 11/14/2007 1:47:40 PM

this is simply admirable... vitek was vogg's (the guitar player) brother, and he could've just broken up the band but he decided to move on. he's definitely got a lot of determination and respect for his brother. this is awesome news! rip vitek

worstgayhead 11/14/2007 2:05:53 PM

wow, way to capitalize on others public tragedy, nuclear blast

hotaction 11/14/2007 2:09:05 PM

mht 11/14/2007 2:51:43 PM

you guys saying this is a pity signing or capitalizing of a tragedy are fcking losers... this band fcking deserves it. seriously.

linkmanifesto 11/14/2007 2:53:18 PM

I knew Vogg would honor his brother by carrying on as Decapitated.

ESCDOMINATES 11/14/2007 3:09:17 PM

That sure was a short grieving period.

SunnyvaleTrash 11/14/2007 3:18:44 PM

swampthang 11/14/2007 3:51:50 PM

who's filling viteks shoes?

grudgeagainstastranger 11/14/2007 4:00:50 PM

seems like kind of inappropriate timing. didn't he just die last week? moving on is important, but i don't think i'd give a shit about music for a while after something happened.

sammyapples 11/14/2007 4:01:06 PM

swampthang 11/14/2007 3:51:50 PM who's filling viteks shoes? thats what i want to know

ass_shit 11/14/2007 5:13:02 PM

thats great that they're moving forward. super dedicated band.

metaljohn 11/14/2007 5:19:15 PM

you morons obviously have no concept of how the music industry works, they were probably in the process of negotiating this deal months ago, its not like nuclear blast just offered them a deal right when vitek died.

samonilla 11/14/2007 5:26:25 PM

owned. gays

ass_shit 11/14/2007 6:11:03 PM

well shit.. make room for METALJOHN... c-cky ass bitch

kenwregget 11/14/2007 6:21:42 PM

Holy shit, this is proof that all labels are looking for is popular bands to make money off of...face the fact, Decapitated are much more discussed since Vitek died.

xnvb 11/14/2007 6:42:09 PM

you heartless idiots who continue to try and gain e-cred by making fun of vitek's situation should probably be hit by trains. it's about time, what the fck took so long for them to be signed to a bigger label?

MarginError 11/14/2007 6:45:47 PM

wait, wait wait, why the fck are they worried about a record deal at this point??? This should be the last thing on anyone's mind...

fatamusblob 11/14/2007 7:46:43 PM

Blastbeat maestro, give me a fcking break. This band fcking sucks.

phobophile 11/14/2007 8:05:09 PM

vogg fcking rules and this was undoubtedly a difficult decision. even without vitek, i foresee brilliant music in this band's future. hannes from necrophagist should join.

eyehateallgods 11/14/2007 9:02:24 PM

fatamusblob 11/14/2007 7:46:43 PM Blastbeat maestro, give me a fcking break. This band fcking sucks. die

pongo_pigmayis 11/15/2007 12:58:31 AM

its obviously what vitek would want either way, and that's probably why they took the deal. good for those guys

agent_friday 11/15/2007 1:45:15 AM

how did vitek die? being in decapititated? it wouldnt have been... HEAD INJURIES WOULD IT?! AMIRITE!

Chaosphere 11/15/2007 8:39:19 AM

"I can only hope that my obituary includes some mention of blastbeats as well." Best comment ever. And yeah, most likely they signed a month or two ago, and are announcing it now.

forumdrama 11/15/2007 6:43:43 PM

It's not signing to Nuclear Blast that I care about, it's the signing to them that prefaces a fact that they're still going to stick it out with a new drummer. I'm stoked

nocomply 11/16/2007 1:24:21 PM

you guys probably don't realize that they probably signed this deal a while ago, Nuclear Blast waited most likely to release the news at a delicate time... shitty RIP Vitek

babaghanoush 11/29/2007 4:29:20 AM

Nuclear blast = good label Century media...take note
