Silent Drive posts new song, adds guitarist

After more than three years, Silent Drive (featuring members and ex-members of Bane and Drowningman) have posted a new song online. The new track, titled "Mexican Standoff," will be featured on the band's second album for Equal Vision Records. As such, the demo material will be re-recorded for the new album. The drum tracks were recorded in Vermont with drummer Dave Joyal's friend, Mark Lucia. Vocals, guitar, and bass were recorded in Massachusetts with Silent Drive's new second guitar player, Andy Kyte. The band states that the song is one of "the heavier tracks on the record and you can still expect the 'no song sounds the same' style on the next album." A note from the band regarding the recent addition of Kyte: "Andy has been a friend of ours for years, He actually played second guitar in Silent Drive when the band was formed in early-2003. After we started jamming with Andy, we realized it helped fill out our sound to a degree we had never thought possible in the past. Now we have more room to experiment."
