Taken drummer to leave band

Tuesday, October 16, 2001 8:33 AM PT

Taken, one of our favorite bands, has announced the departure of their highly praised drummer, Troy Born. Here's the official statement from Troy:

"I wanted to explain what is going on so no one is confused or left wondering. I have decided to move on from Taken. The reason and only reason being is that my passion or desire for playing in Taken, whichever you prefer, has departed from me. I will finish out the shows that have been already booked and there will most likely be a last one for me. I want to thank everyone who has ever supported Taken in any way. I have enjoyed playing these last 4 years and I do not regret anything that I have done with Taken. Playing shows, practicing, touring, meeting people (even though I am quiet), and all the rest that came along with it, are things I will never forget for the rest of my life. So thank you all again for your love and support. And I also want to say that I love the rest of the guys in Taken, and nothing will ever change that. And I love Jordan Deckanbach, Chris Cox, Nathan Trujillo, Joe, Mike Thompson, Richard Marion, and most of all my Lord, Savior, Rock, Refuge, Strength, Wisdom, Life, and Love forever and ever, my everything, Jesus - I will sing forever."

Taken will soldier on, but they know that finding a talented drummer is no easy task. The have immediately begun their search and are willing to try out anyone, so if you're committed and able to tour, email Chad at drownwithyou@hotmail.com.
