Official press release:
Pioneers of extreme music Today Is The Day have completed work on "Axis Of Eden", the band's eighth studio album.
The driving creative force behind "Axis Of Eden" is Today Is The Day founder/frontman Steve Austin, described by Alternative Press Magazine as "a noise-rock auteur known as much for his off-kilter, damaging riffs and vocals as for his soaring David Gilmour leads." As well as being the album's principal songwriter, Austin is also the album's producer; he engineered, mixed, and mastered "Axis Of Eden" at his own studio, Austin Enterprise, where he has also worked with Lamb Of God, Burn The Priest, Converge, and Unsane, among others.
"Axis Of Eden" features the debut of new Today Is The Day drummer Derek Roddy. A world renowned drummer who has played with Hate Eternal and Nile, Roddy was voted onto Modern Drummer's Top 5 Up And Coming Drummers list in the magazine's 2007 Readers' Poll.
"Axis Of Eden" is Today Is The Day's first new album in over 3 years and it is the band's first album to be released on founder/frontman Steve Austin's own label, SuperNova Records. SuperNova Records is distributed exclusively by MRI/RED/Sony Distribution in the US, Cargo Distribution in Canada, F.A.B. Distribution in Canada, and IODA for all digital distribution. "Axis Of Eden" release date is set for September 18 in the US.
