Chimaira signs w/ Roadrunner

After months of speculation, Cleveland metalcore band, Chimaira, has officially signed with Roadrunner Records. Formally on the East Coast Empire Records roster, look for the band to enter the studio later this month with producer Mudrock. Here's an official statement concerning the matter: "Cleveland's Chimaira have officially inked a deal with Roadrunner Records. After over 6 months of negotiation, and contemplating offers from other labels, the band decided to sign with Roadrunner, the label that has spawned such acts as Sepultura, Slipknot, Fear Factory, Machine Head, Soulfly, Coal Chamber and Spineshank." Vocalist Mark Hunter had this to say: " Now we finally have an opportunity for our music to be heard. It's a dream come true considering I've wanted to be affiliated with the bands on Roadrunner since I was 13. Ever since I heard Sepultura. I said 'I have to be in a band and get on that label so I can say I'm label mates with such amazing bands.' And although we talked to some other very cool labels that were really into what we were doing, this band belongs on Roadrunner."
