Spitfire member organizes cancer benefit comp.

Matt Beck, formerly of Mae, and currently of Spitfire, is putting together a punk/hardcore compilation to raise cancer awareness. Entitled "Friend In Need Benefit Compilation Vol. I," the comp will benefit "several foundations that provide mammograms for women who could not otherwise afford them." The release, issued as a double LP in colored vinyl, will be limited to 1000 copies and released by KOI Records later this year. Bands appearing on the comp include: Norma Jean, Spitfire, Underoath, Body Electric, Bleed The Sun, Cattle Decapitation, Everything Falls Together, Avail, Cassius, Winter Solstice, From A Second Story Window, Horse The Band, Dead Poetic, As Cities Burn, Handshake Murders, Savage Brewtality, The Minor Times, The Jefferson Plane Crash, Cursed, Curl Up And Die, Jud Jud, Mika Bomb, and Dead Thoughts Memory. In addition to the vinyl, the release will also include a DVD featuring live unreleased videos from both Hellfest and Cornerstone Festival in addition to interviews and other features.
