Cave In prepare new release

Friday, April 15, 2005 3:15 PM PT / 6,667 views
Cave In have announced that they'll be releasing a new album with Hydra Head Records this summer. Titled "Perfect Pitch Black," the eight-song album will feature songs recorded in 2003 and 2004, with some "recent embellishments." According to the band, "whatever recorded versions of these tunes you may already be familiar with via the Internet, the actual disc that sees the light this summer will be news to your ears." Engineering and mixing the effort is Andrew Schneider, with the album expected to hit stores in August.

xselloutx 4/15/2005 3:23:22 PM

is it me, or does this reek of "please love us again... we're sorry we turned our backs on you metal fans... no really (as we write more rock tunes just in case RCA stops ignoring our calls)."

what the fck are you talking about cave in was never a metal band

marching_band_rules 4/15/2005 3:37:17 PM

Read the interview, Stephen says that they shouldn't have forgotten where they came from. I think they're still a legit band. They'll never be like Until Your Heart Stops again but they're still good in in my opinion.

hall_of_wax 4/15/2005 3:37:24 PM

read: we know we suck now. please give us a 4th chance.

tiger 4/15/2005 3:40:42 PM

RonMexico 4/15/2005 3:43:30 PM

this is old news

Kragg 4/15/2005 3:46:21 PM

The demos for the new stuff were boring crap. Antenna and Jupiter were much better. They'll never match "Until Your Heart Stops", but they need to figure out what they want to do and stick with it.

yeast_infection 4/15/2005 3:49:57 PM

i think Trepanning is the best song they've written since Jupiter came out

xpoopx 4/15/2005 4:02:06 PM

pfff... whatever. I am not down for the space rock. "Mork calling Orson. Come in Orson"

Jay 4/15/2005 4:43:45 PM

xtroyx 4/15/2005 10:06:02 PM

i really liked antenna. the old metalcore stuff was pretty good as well. i just hope they mix the two sounds into something new. metalcore hasn't been all that great the last little bit...

thegreatuther 4/15/2005 11:37:35 PM

EVERYTHING Cave in has done is awesome. Steve Brodsky is the man. Some people just like to switch it up over the years

Mattapooh 4/16/2005 12:02:15 AM

I dig everything they've done, so I'm stoked

yeahdude 4/19/2005 4:18:55 AM

i don't get it... when you guys (lambgoat nerds) say, "cave in" in another thread, what is that supposed to mean? like, some band signs to a bigger label and someone will respond with, "cave in." are you calling them sellouts?

revspin 4/20/2005 12:00:35 AM

it's trendy lambgoat lingo you n00b

andrewdeadheat 6/13/2005 11:11:46 AM
