Halsey claims to have booked August Burns Red and The Devil Wears Prada prior to making music

Recently a video has surfaced of American singer/songwriter Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, better known as Halsey, being asked about her love for hardcore by a fan during an in-store appearance at Ulta for her make brand About-Face.

In the brief clip shared late-last year by Christian Leyve on his TikTok shows Halsey answering a question, which is not included in the clip, however, she can be heard saying:

I mean I super fuck with hardcore.

She then goes on to speak on her promoting and booking hardcore/metal shows in the New Jersey area, the biggest being an August Burns Red and The Devil Wear Prada show:

I used to promote hardcore shows. In Jersey before I started making music. I did a lot of hardcore but then also some of the more commercial hardcore. The biggest show I ever booked, I was 16, was like August Burns Red and The Devil Wears Prada.

Halsey even goes on to say her senior yearbook quote was a line from Defeater. However, she has gone on record prior saying she quoted Hundredth as well. So who knows.

In the comments of the TikTok video you can see many others saying they had seen a young Halsey at shows in the NJ area, one even claimed she booked Shattered Realm. 

This is not the first time the Pop world has had ties back to the hardcore or metal world, Demi Lavato posted a clip of herself singing along to He Is Legend's "I am Hollywood". Billie Eilish posted a IG reel featuring It Dies Today's classic "A Threnody For Modern Romance" and was even spotted watching Knocked Loose from side stage at Coachella.
