Sick New World 2025 "Probably Not Happening" says Mr. Bungle/Tomahawk's Trevor Dunn
Update: Sick New World has officially been cancelled, read the story here.
Rumors continue to swirl around the fate of the 2025 Sick New World festival, with Trevor Dunn of Mr. Bungle/Tomahawk seemingly confirming its cancellation during a now-edited episode of The Vinyl Guide.
According to Blunt, Dunn revealed that the Las Vegas fest, where Tomahawk was scheduled to perform, is "not happening."
He explained:
I'm probably not supposed to talk about this, but it's not happening. It'll come out in the wash soon, but basically, the festival ['Sick New World'] is not happening. We had a whole tour, we had a two-week thing built around that, which we can't do now because financially it doesn't make any sense, so yeah, that's not happening.
The original version of the podcast spilled the beans almost 29 minutes into the episode, however that segement of the episode has since been removed.
When pressed, Dunn stated he had erased it from his calendar and believed a final decision had already been made.
The festival was set to feature Metallica, Queens Of The Stone Age, and a reunited Acid Bath, among others, with the lineup announced just last month. Industry rumors suggest budget issues may be to blame, but no official statement has been released yet.
