Metallica, Gojira, Knocked Loose and Spiritbox nominated for Best Metal Performance Grammy
The Recording Academy announced nominees today for the upcoming 67th Annual Grammy Award. Included in the announcement was the Best Metal Performance category. And the nominees are:
"Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça Ira)" - Gojira, Marina Viotti & Victor Le Masne
"Crown of Horns" - Judas Priest
"Suffocate" - Knocked Loose featuring Poppy
"Screaming Suicide" - Metallica
"Cellar Door" - Spiritbox

The Grammy for metal performance is always so strange...you have bands there purely out of name recognition (Metallica, Korn, Rammstein), bands that clearly aren't metal (Turnstile) then occasionally bands that are actually good (Gojiras a compelling choice). Clearly the people voting know little to nothing about metal.

Gojira literally played the most watched and talked about Metal performance in metal history, I think it's pretty clear who should win this award, but I won't be surprised if it goes to Metallica or Judas Priest because boomers still run the world
