San Francisco metal/hardcore band Blessing The Hogs have parted ways with bassist (and founding member) Steve Pogatch. Here's a statement from the band:

"Steve Bruce Pogatch has decided to leave the band. Steve has decided to stop playing music as his heart no longer has the desire. All of us wish Steve the best of luck and appreciation for his hard work and loyalty."

The group is now in search of an immediate replacement. Candidates should have professional equipment, stage presence, be willing to practice twice a week, and be able to tour. For more information, send an email here.

In related news, the band's new album, "The Twelve Gauge Solution," will hit stores this summer through Goodfellow Records. The effort was recorded by band guitarist Billy Anderson (Fantomas) and mixed by Eric Rachel (Nora). Former Coalesce frontman Sean Ingram will appear on two cover songs, Melvins' "HogLeg" and Quicksand's "Fazer." Finally, the band will film a video prior to the album's release, which should ultimately end up on Headbangers Ball and Uranium.
