Joyce Manor show shut down, police arrest fans for moshing

Joyce Manor Show

Southern California indie/pop-punk band Joyce Manor recently kicked off a brief tour along the southeast U.S. Their first show took place at Collective Con, an anime/comic convention hosted at The Prime Osborn Convention Center in Jacksonville, Florida, with openers Porch Coffin & Glazed

Reports indicate that after attempting to calm the crowd for stage diving and moshing, things escalated when security personnel positioned themselves on stage during Joyce Manor's song "Constant Headache." This led to the shutdown of the show, police moving in to disperse the crowd, and multiple individuals being detained by police.

Videos were shared on social media showing the events unfolding.

Far From Home Records, a label based in Orlando, couldn't believe what they were seeing. A social media post by the label criticized the forceful manner in which fans were tossed around by the authorities during the show.

They said:

Far From Home explained further what led to the shutdown:

Saw it being shut down a mile away because they kept telling the crowd to calm down but went overboard so fast. Infuriating to see one of the smallest and calmest dudes there being picked on by the cops just because they got lumped in with the crowd.

People started stage diving even after the security dude was grabbing them and taking them aside so like I sorta get it (even though it was fine) but biggest mistake was the cop just patrolling in the middle of the crowd and yelling at fans that were bumped into bumping them.

In response, Glazed, one of the local acts performing at the show, shared their perspective:

Glazed also directed a message at Jacksonville's mayor, Donna Deegan:
