Roman Candle part ways with bassist Nico Borgia following domestic assault claims
Las Vegas hardcore act Roman Candle have parted ways with bassist Nico Borgia following domestic assault claims. Front-woman Piper Ferrari shared the following statement addressing the situation.
The band is also making a $2,500 donation to The National Domestic Violence Hotline.
Along with the statement Ferrari shared the following in her Tweet:
I've always been an open book on this site and that doesn't change with this, there is a lot of misinformation and I'm more than happy to do my best to clear anything up.
The band's statement reads:
Yesterday we became aware of allegations of domestic abuse and sexual assault by a former partner of our bassist, Nico.
In light of these allegations, we have all decided to part ways with Nico. We were aware the relationship was unhealthy but not to the extent of what has been shared.
We hope it goes without saying that we do not condone abuse in any form, but we want to take the opportunity to reiterate that here. 'Glad' to see Roman Candle on here. My previous band opened a show for them in Spokane and I let them crash at my place after a show on their 'never give up' tour. Will never do that again. Nothing more than con artists in my opinion. All they wanted to do was sell me a new toilet. Stated my toilet was "bad" but couldn't explain as to how.
