Directed by Grisham, IGNORE HEROES recounts the story of the original T.S.O.L. through interviews with surviving members and those present in the tumultuous early Californian punk rock scene. The documentary explores T.S.O.L.'s explosive emergence in 1978, their impact on the Southern California hardcore punk scene, and the subsequent recording of two EPs and two LPs with Grisham. The film delves into Grisham's role as the charismatic ringmaster, the band's trajectory, and his departure from the scene to pursue synthesizer-oriented music. Through standup monologues, archival footage, animation, and interviews, IGNORE HEROES candidly contextualizes the excesses that led to the eventual crash and burn of TRUE SOUNDS OF LIBERTY.
