Slipknot part ways with drummer Jay Weinberg

Jay Weinberg

Slipknot has announced a split from drummer Jay Weinberg, who joined the band in 2014 after the band's original drummer was released in 2013. Slipknot's original drummer, Joey Jordison died in 2021. The band has yet to announce a replacement for Weinberg.

Weinberg is the latest Slipknot member to leave after the keyboardist Craig Jones left in June.

Slipknot thanked Weinberg for his dedication and contributions, but stated their intention to evolve creatively.

The statement reads:

We would like to thank Jay Weinberg for his dedication and passion over the past ten years. No one can ever replace Joey Jordison's original sound, style or energy, but Jay honored Joey's parts and contributed to the last three albums and we, the band, and the fans appreciate it. But as ever, slipknot is intent on evolving. The band has decided to make a creative decision, and to part ways with Jay. We wish Jay all the best and are very excited for what the future holds.
