Death Angel guitarist Ted Aguilar reports missing guitars after flight from Japan to San Francisco
Ted Aguilar, guitarist of San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal veterans Death Angel, has recently reported that two of his guitars mysteriously went missing during a recent flight. The incident occurred on the return journey from Narita, Japan to San Francisco (SFO) on September 25, 2023.
Ted discovered the disappearance upon opening his Enki case, where he found that two guitars, along with their straps and Line 6 transmitters, were nowhere to be found. It remains unclear whether the guitars were lost during the check-in process in Narita or if the incident took place after their arrival at SFO. The circumstances surrounding the disappearance remain a mystery.
The missing guitars carry significant value to Aguilar, who had planned to utilize them during the upcoming European tour alongside Sacred Reich and Angelus Apatrida. The first guitar in question is an ESP Japan Custom Shop all-black Eclipse with LED features on the side dots and inlays, affectionately known as "Vader." Its serial number is T1429503. The second missing instrument is an ESP Standard Series Silver Burst Eclipse with the serial number SS1308617.
