Thetan unveil new single "Note To Self" from third album 'Grand Ole Agony'

Prepare your ears for Thetan, the relentless punk and metal powerhouse hailing from the South and East Coast since 2011, as they deliver their latest sonic assault. "Note To Self" is the electrifying single from their third studio album, Grand Ole Agony, available October 13 on both digital and vinyl formats via Anti-Corp Music.

In this haunting track, Thetan delves deep into the human psyche, exploring the concept of inner demons lying dormant, waiting to resurface and haunt us. It's a visceral reminder that as imperfect beings, we grapple with internal conflicts born from the lives we've chosen to lead. "Note To Self" is more than just music; it's an unapologetic journey into the darker corners of the human experience.

Vocalist Dan Emery says:

This is one of my favorite songs to play live right now, and is usually our set closer. It is about your inner demons never quite going away, but instead lying dormant, waiting to come back and haunt you. Humans are imperfect beings. We are plagued with internal conflict that is solely a result of the types of lives we have forced ourselves to live.

The accompanying official music video, filmed by Morbid Fantasies, captures the essence of the song's raw power. It's a fitting treatment that pairs with Thetan's ability to blend early hardcore with West Coast powerviolence, all while infusing elements of 1990s European black metal.

Thetan emerged from the remnants of the Nashville hardcore band Sanctions in 2011 and opted for a two-piece format, defying convention. Since then, they've left their mark on the scene with releases like Welcome To Whine Country, Laughed At By The Gods, and a slew of split releases, singles, and compilation tracks.

But Grand Ole Agony is where Thetan takes their craft to another sonic dimension. With nightmarish soundscapes, a monologue by rap icon Crunchy Black of Three 6 Mafia, and a relentless onslaught of distorted bass and drum blasts, this album is a mind-bending journey into the abyss. Notable collaborations with artists like Mac Gollehon, David Brenner, Leslie Fox-Humphreys, Ashley Mae, and Benjamin Tod add layers of intensity and depth to the experience.

Grand Ole Agony was meticulously crafted by Thetan, with post-production handled by Dan Emery at Black Matter Mastering. The album's cover art by Kristen Ferrell and photography by Ericka Poore and Joseph Wyman complete the package.

Thetan Grand Ole Agony tracklist:

1. God's America (feat. Crunchy Black)

4. Bless Your Heart
