No Cure sponsor straight-edge MMA fighter Fred Weaver

Tomorrow night at the Bartow Arena in Birmingham, AL Fred Weaver (2-3-0) will enter the MMA ring to face Anthony Stewart (6-4-2) as part of The Night Of The Assassin event being held by Round 1 Boxing.

In a unique move, local straight-edge hardcore band No Cure has sponsored Weaver, who is also a straight-edge athlete. The band's logo will be visible on Weaver's shorts, which you can view below.

No Cure guitarist Aesop Mongo stated:

Me and Fred know each other from both hanging out at Good Neighbor Tattoo in Birmingham. I heard he was looking sponsors for his upcoming fight, and I thought it would be sick to be one through No Cure.

Fighter Fred Weaver added:

Hardcore and fighting have both played major roles in my life, and I'm excited to bring them together like this.
