Spiritbox call their fans "Boxies" while Ronnie Radke just calls them "communist"
Courtney Laplante of Spiritbox recently revealed that the band has been referring to their fans as "Boxies" for the past several years, though she had never made it public before. Laplante admitted to accidentally using the term on stage a few times but generally prefers when fans come up with their own nicknames.
On Twitter, she said:
"Did you know we call people who like our band "Boxies"?
I think like 5-6 years of referring to you as Boxies but have never said it publicly bc I like when fans make their own name up, but I've accidentally said it on stage now a few times"
However, not everyone is a fan of "Boxies." It's well known that Falling In Reverse's Ronnie Radke has had a contentious relationship with the Spiritbox fanbase, ultimately blaming them for Spiritbox dropping from a span of recent tour dates.
In response to a fan's comment that Spiritbox didn't want to tour with Falling In Reverse, Radke said that the band did want to tour together, but that "their communist coffee shop working fans that couldn't afford tickets anyways didn't." Despite the drama, Radke says he had previously helped Spiritbox out during a festival when they were experiencing technical difficulties and called the band "cool as hell."
Radke said in full:
"They did, their communist coffee shop working fans that couldn't afford tickets anyways didn't, band is cool as hell, I actually helped them when they played before us on a festival a year ago when they were having technical issues. Surely their fans would melt knowing that Info"
