Voivod drop first single and lyric video off upcoming 40th anniversary studio album

Canadian metal band Voivod have announced a special anniversary studio album called Morgöth Tales, set to be released on July 21st, 2023 via Century Media Records. The album celebrates 40 years of existence for the band and will feature nine fresh studio (re-)recordings from their diverse back catalog and a brand-new song in the album's title track. 

Morgöth Tales was recorded and mixed by Francis Perron at RadicArt Studio, mastered by Maor Appelbaum, and produced by Voivod. The album covers 40 years of space exploration and features a more obscure part of the band's catalog, ranging from thrash-punk to prog-metal. The title track was written while the band was on tour in November/December 2022.

Voivod bassist Dominic "Rocky" Laroche commented:

Its solid drum and bass, alien guitar line on top, lyrics and melody that connects it all towards a spinning triangle bridge makes 'Nuage Fractal' unique, which represents the era of 'Angel Rat'.
