Official press release:
Today, Santa Cruz hardcore outfit Drain share a music video for their cover of The Descendents track, "Good Good Things", ahead of new album LIVING PROOF out May 5th. Tackling the 1985 classic, the reimagined version comes as a change of pace for the band who trade in their thrash roots for melodic punk, debuting smooth baritone vocals from front man Sammy Ciaramitaro.
Preorder LIVING PROOF here.
Ciaramitaro shared the following:
The Descendents were a huge band for me as both a teenager and as an adult. I know I can speak for all of us when I say that it's an honor to pay homage and respect to them, as a band that changed the game for us. I just straight up love this track and in a weird way felt like lyrically, it hit home and touched on the same themes that Drain is all about.
It definitely was a bit of a step outside of our lane, doing cleaner singing and what not, but we wanted to try and stick true to the original while giving it a little bit of our personality in the mix. Listen to the Descendents.

Post CommentSpeaking of drain, it's nice to see Americans are finally flushing that orange turd. Congrats! Fascism sux.
Joe hardcore got married on sheetrock Toby H2ped0 GOO
Drain shilling for Big Soda cuz they can't play hardcore just for fun. Seriously, where do they think they're going? LOL @ doing a band for a living. Get a real job.
Kid Rock is all fired up amid Bud Light's decision to partner up with a transgender activist and the California hardcore band "Drain" -- and we mean that literally -- 'cause he's out firing bullets over the whole thing. The singer/rapper posted a video to his social media Monday, which was uncaptioned ... but was also self-explanatory in what was shown. Namely, it's him grabbing an AR-style rifle of some sort and firing a ton of bullets at a few cases of Bud Light off in the distance. He starts his video by saying, "grandpa's feeling a little frisky today,"
no one really from south bay or sc wears santa cruz apparel. only posers and tourists. put on a hollister shirt next time
How far has Sunami fallen? They're bragging (lying) about selling out community centers & 300-400 capacity venues They're so over they had to add One Step Closer to sell out their show in Syracuse NY (OSC who has headlined & can still headline shows there.) 😂
Still hate the mustache guy. >>> He looks like Ron Jeremy LOL. I'm confused - is this band vocals/guitar/drums or guitar/bass/drums trio where one guy sings?
Heavily pitch corrected vocals in metal are one thing when there's a lot going on and you don't notice it as much. Something simple like this and it's just goddamn embarassing.
Nancyboy music for bud light groomers. Typical LG trash for no talent cucks.
Remember when selling out was a concern and punk really meant something
Saw the dude from circle jerks on million dollar listing selling his 7 million dollar house. #punk
Imagine celebrating "womanhood" with a man as your spokesperson.
I like these guys, I can play them in the car with my parents and they can enjoy a hardcore band with me. I bet if you let them crash after a show they make the bed and clean the house for you and not destroy it. Positive stuff
who's the chud complaining about Santa Cruz "apparel"? It's a skateboard company, dork. they make skateboards and happen to screen shirts too. Hence all of the folks wearing their stuff. They probably skate - or know someone who does. I think the original poster must be a Call of Duty dweeb or something?
Garbage band covering garbage band. Descendents' lyrics are a tampon thread away from being the same level as Paramore lyrics.
you obviously aren't from around here. the santa cruz skate shop is for posers who go to derby to take instagram photos. east san jose matters. you won't see those threads in real SJ bum. drain and tsunami sucks
Make money online from home extra cash more than 18000Dollars to21000 Dollars. https://www.netpayfast.com/
what the hell is Santa Cruz skateshop? Bills Wheels is the only shop around here, fool. I better not catch you slippin out in the Flats or at Steamer's. Valley kooks go home.
This dude looks legitimately mentally disabled. That's not an insult. I'm happy to see their kind get the spotlight in hardcore. Wouldn't risk hugging him though.
Drain f*cks but this was not the best song for them to cover
