New Orleans outfit Goatwhore, featuring Soilent Green frontman Ben Falgoust, has officially signed with Metal Blade Records. According to the band, "This is a very big step for us and will surely open up new doors for us to expand." The group will release their Metal Blade debut in mid-2005. Here's a statement from Metal Blade owner and CEO, Brian Slagel:
"We are very excited to welcome Goatwhore to the Metal Blade Family. They are already a great band, with a great career and we plan on taking them to the next level."
In related news, the group has finally found a replacement for drummer Zak Nolan, who left the group in January. The new guy is Zack Simmons, of Phoenix, AZ, and he's been practicing with the group since early-June.
