Petition launched to include Trevor Strnad in Grammys 'In Memoriam' segment

In the wake of The Black Dahlia Murder frontman Trevor Strnad's passing, a new Change.org petition has been launched to include Strnad in the Grammy Awards "In Memoriam" segment.
Created by journalist, musician, and artist manager, Bradley Zorgdrager, the petition doesn't beat around the bush:
"The Grammy Awards have a longstanding blindspot for metal, recently snubbing influential metal figures Joey Jordison (Slipknot) and Jon Zazula (Megaforce Records) from their In Memoriam segment.
"The metal community just lost a hugely influential and universally loved member, Trevor Strnad, best known as vocalist of The Black Dahlia Murder, as well as for his encyclopedic knowledge of metal and fun-loving, kind spirit.
"Grammy producer Ken Winston apologized for leaving people out, and we as a metal community demand — nay, kindly ask as he would want us to — Trevor Strnad's inclusion in next year's ceremony."
Since the Grammys couldn't even be bothered to Slayer's Jeff Hanneman or Pantera's Vinnie Paul, the petition's prospects appear grim, but we'll hope for the best.

Haha Justin Lowe was in a low tier level band. Black dahlia murder was almost headed towards legacy status in another couple years they would've been at the level of cannibal corpse and obituary. I think Trevor has a better shot. RIP
Yes, getting Strnad's face/name featured for 3 seconds in an arbitrary vid at the celebrity-worship fest masquerading as being "music centric" is exactly where we should be putting our efforts/energies right now.

I am sure that is what Trevor would have wanted, to be recognized by an award ceremony that does not recognize the type of music he played and loved.

If you need a petition to include him in the In Memorium he's just not known well enough to be included. The Grammys IM lists whoever they deem was famous enough to be mentioned. I don't see them including Trevor but it's worth a shot.
