Jinjer raise nearly $150,000 for Ukraine via t-shirt campaign

Earlier this month Ukrainian metal group Jinjer canceled their North American tour dates due to Russia's invasion of their native country. Accompanying the announcement was the launch of several new merch offerings, with the proceeds to be distributed among various charity organizations in Ukraine.

Fast forward less than three weeks and Jinjer have revealed that to date more than 11,000 items have been purchased with roughly $143,000 raised in total.

The band had the following to say:

"Over 11,000 Donation Tee's sold and 130.000€ raised in the last few weeks! Your support will not only help so many people in need but sends a much needed positive sign that they are not alone. The first donations totaling 10K have already been sent to a bomb shelter in Kyiv housing and protecting 300 people, and a Slovakian humanitarian convoy collecting urgent medical supplies, food and clothing to be delivered Uzhgorod for refugees from the Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions who have been hit hard since the war started. More updates on where and who your donations have helped will be posted soon!

"On behalf of the entire band, crew, label and all of Ukraine - WE THANK YOU!"

Just like every other third world country, the aid money gets siphoned off to the ultra rich and nothing good comes of it. Hopefully they gave it to some local organization instead of the government. The $10B in US aid is going right back into the politicians pockets while Ukrainians get sent back to the 16th century. f*ck the US, f*ck Russia.
