Police investigating Brass Against onstage urination incident
Authorities are reportedly looking into the onstage incident that saw Brass Against vocalist Sophia Urista urinate onto the face of a willing fan during the group's set at the Welcome to Rockville festival last week.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that Daytona Beach Police received a message on the department's Facebook account regarding the incident. Department spokesman Messod Bendayan said that he advised the messenger to file a report, and she did. Bendayan added that the department's criminal investigations division will now look into the incident.
The News-Journal reports that Florida statute 800.03 states that is illegal for someone to "expose his or her sexual organs in public or on the private premises of another, or so near thereto as to be seen from such private premises, in a vulgar or indecent manner."
Said crime is punishable by up to a year in jail or a $1,000 fine.
For their part, Brass Against issued a statement regarding the incident in which they said, "Sophia got carried away."
