For the first time in the band's existence, a new Asking Alexandria album has failed to chart on the Billboard 200.
The group's new album See What's on the Inside — their first with record label Better Noise after releasing their previous six studio albums with Sumerian Records — tallied roughly 2,400 in pure sales during its first week of release in the United States. Coupled with stream equivalent album sales, the total was significantly less than the number needed to crack the Billboard 200.
Since the release of their 2009 debut, Stand Up and Scream, which peaked at No. 170 on the Billboard 200, Asking Alexandria have scored three Top 10 albums and one Top 30 album.
See What's on the Inside did manage to bow at No. 29 on the Current Album Sales chart, No. 43 on the Top Album Sales chart, and No. 22 on the Hard Rock Albums chart.
Asking Alexandria's previous album, Like a House on Fire (2020), tallied more than 7,000 in sales during its first week and landed at No. 80 on the Billboard 200. Meanwhile, the record debuted at No. 6 on the Top Album Sales chart and No. 2 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart.
Going back further, the band's 2017 self-titled album bowed at No. 27 on the Billboard 27 after selling roughly 22,000 copies in its debut week.
To date, Asking Alexandria's most successful debut was that of 2013 album, From Death to Destiny, which sold 41,000 copies in its first week of release in the U.S. and landed at No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
