Meshuggah in the studio, likely recording new album

Last fall Meshuggah drummer Tomas Haake revealed that the extreme tech-metal band had written the majority of their full-length follow-up to 2016's The Violent Sleep of Reason. At the time, Haake indicated that they were targeting a late 2021 release. If a new photograph (see below) posted to Meshuggah's social media accounts is any indication, the Swedish band appears to be on track to honor that timeline. The photo shows Tomas Haake's drum set ensconsed in the middle of a recording studio. Sadly, further details were not provided, but such is typical for Meshuggah, who were similarly tight-lipped while tracking their previous album. TL;DR - Meshuggah appear to be tracking their first new album in five years.
