Atlanta, Georgia metal veterans Mastodon will begin tracking their next album and follow-up to 2017's Emperor of Sand in roughly two weeks.
Speaking with radio station 93X, drummer Brann Dailor had the following to say (video below): "We're drilling the new material to record mid-November. We're going for realsies mid-November, so we are just drilling it."
Joint writing and demoing for the outing commenced this past spring at the group's own studio in Atlanta.
