Sid McCray, original vocalist of legendary hardcore punk group Bad Brains, has reportedly passed away.
The news comes via The New York Hardcore Chronicles, who says that McCray "was the one responsible for introducing punk rock and metal to their fusion and helped create the template for what the Bad Brains became" (see below).
McCray departed Bad Brains in 1978 but remained part of their inner circle.
