The Ghost Inside album debuts in Top 150

The Ghost Inside's new, self-titled album, their first in nearly six years, has debuted at No. 141 on the Billboard 200 chart with first-week sales of roughly 8,700 (6,200 pure sales) in the United States in its first week of release.

The Ghost Inside also debuted at No. 4 on the Top Album Sales chart, No. 14 on the Rock Albums chart, and No. 4 on the Hard Rock Albums chart.

The new record's showing on the Billboard 200 chart paled in comparison to that of their last album, Dear Youth (2014), which bowed at No. 63, but sales of The Ghost Inside were roughly in line with Dear Youth's first-week tally of 7,000.

In 2012, The Ghost Inside's Get What You Give sold 5,300 copies in its debut week and landed at No. 88 on the Billboard 200, the group's first appearance on said chart.

While the controversy surrounding the group on the day of the new album's release isn't likely to have helped matters, its overall impact on sales is nearly impossible to quantify.
