Larry Carroll, the man behind the artwork of Slayer's three most highly-regarded albums, passed away Tuesday (May 22) morning at the age of 65.
A prolific illustrator who has contributed artwork to The New Times, Newsweek, and Spin, among many others, Carroll is most well-known for designing the artwork of the Slayer's seminal albums, Reign in Blood (1986), South of Heaven (1988), and Seasons in the Abyss (1990). Carroll also provided the artwork for Slayer's Christ Illusion (2006) record.
