Bloodjinn loses drummer

Justin Collins, drummer of Bloodjinn drummer, has decided to leave the group for personal reasons. Collins will play his final show with the band on February 28th at Ace's Basement in Greensboro, NC. Here's a statement from Collins: "This is the hardest decision I have ever had to make in my life, but walking away from Bloodjinn is just something I have to do at this time. I am approaching my 30th birthday and my body and mind cannot handle touring anymore and I do not want to hold Bloodjinn back from fulfilling the goals the band has set. I've gone back to school to get my teaching degree as well. I'm also getting married to my beautiful fiancee Meghan in August and it is just time for me to embrace my new life. I've made tons of friends and I have had so much fun at all of the shows, and on all of the tours for the past 8 years. I have also learned a lot from playing music. One of the things I have learned is that you should cherish every moment of your youth. My only advice is to not take being in bands so seriously that you ruin friendships or burn bridges. Your relationships with people are more important in the long run than any record is worth. I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the past 8 years and what you all have given me. Thank you very much and much love." Bloodjinn is currently auditioning drummers. If you want to give it a shot, email the band here. Otherwise, the group is working on new material and has recorded five new songs thus far. Look for a new album to hit streets this fall, possibly preceded by an EP.
