Counterparts announce new EP and fall tour

Counterparts band 2018 Canadian metal/hardcore band Counterparts has announced plans to release a new EP titled Private Room on September 7th with Pure Noise Records. The release will coincide with their "Private Room Tour," that will take place in the U.S. this fall with Being As An Ocean, Have Mercy, and Varials. Dates can be found below. Counterparts vocalist Brendan Murphy comments: "Private Room is a collection of B sides from the last two records that we think deserve to see the light of day. The EP is dedicated to our love of private room karaoke and all of our friends/fans that put up with our psycho bullshit on and off stage." I enjoy this band...with that being said I legit think this is their first headlining tour. Seem to always be an opener.

I dig this band but their live shows are almost always absolute snooze fests with huge "fck you" horse shoes in front of the stage. They fall into that same pocket of bands akin to Shai Hulud, where kids who want to go off to dumb hardcore bands can't thoroughly enjoy them while they're "too hardcore" for all the neckbeard metal purists and D&D loving Between The Buried & Me fan boys.

Saw them a couple times (a couple years agol, and I agree that the live show was a bit dull. I saw a video on YouTube of their CD release show of "You're Not You Anymore" in their home town and they were all kinds of hyped up. Hopefully that continues into this tour.
