The Black Dahlia Murder album debuts in Top 50

Nightbringers, the new album from Michigan melodic death metal band The Black Dahlia Murder, has debuted at No. 35 on the Billboard 200 chart on the strength of first-week sales of roughly 12,000 in the United States. Meanwhile, the record also landed at No. 9 on the Top Album Sales chart, No. 3 on the Hard Rock Albums chart, and No. 3 on the Independent Albums chart. The showing adds yet another entry to The Black Dahlia Murder's impressive streak of five consecutive albums that have debuted in the Top 50 on the Billboard 200 and sold at least (roughly) 10,000 copies in their first week. Notably, Nightbringers' debut improves upon that of the band's previous album, 2015's Abysmal, which sold 10,000 in its first week and bowed at No. 45 on the Billboard 200. Going back further, The Black Dahlia Murder's 2013 album, Everblack, debuted at No. 32 on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of just under 13,000. The Black Dahlia Murder achieved their best showing to date in 2011, when Ritual sold 13,000 copies in its initial week, landing at No. 31 on the Billboard 200.
