The Eulogy (ex-Madball, Throwdown) set to release new EP

Thursday, August 17, 2017 7:05 AM PT / 10,912 views
Official press release: With a virtual all-star team of hardcore lifers, The Eulogy is anxious to follow up on their first release with a new EP called Last Days, due out on September 22nd from Bridge Nine Records. The 5-song record is an absolute banger, serving up classic hardcore with a modern touch. With Matt Henderson at the helm there is a strong embrace of the classic NYHC sound that he was such a huge part of while playing in Agnostic Front and Madball; "This isn't some nostalgia trip" said Henderson. "There are other elements to the sound. We are tuned down which gives us a much heavier feel. The band was founded by guys from NY, Boston and New Jersey so of course we bring that to the table, there are also elements of early punk and death metal." The Eulogy is a band of 5 guys that are playing for the love of the game. "We play some shows first and sometimes last. We don't care, we just like playing hardcore," said bass player Kevin Norton. Formed in 2012, The Eulogy a Southern California-based hardcore punk band started by Henderson (ex-Madball, Agnostic Front), Norton (Eye for an Eye, Straight Faced), Doug MacKinnon (ex-Slapshot, Ignite) and Pete Reilly (Mouthpiece). After auditioning several potential singers, the band ran into old friend Sergio Chavez while watching LA's Terror play a show in Orange County, and he was a perfect fit and The Eulogy had its first lineup. Doug left and drummer Derek Muraski soon joined to record The Eulogy's self-titled EP released in 2015 on Flatspot Records. Derek was soon replaced by veteran Marc Jackson (ex-Throwdown, Bleeding Through) who has been an integral part of The Eulogy both as a drummer and helping write the music. Over the last two years, the band has been playing shows all over the West Coast supporting bands like H2O, Madball and the Cro Mags while developing a loyal following of their own.

anonymous 8/17/2017 11:13:19 AM

I'm shocked! When these dudes play, they play in front of no one! What a joke, they must know someone.

anonymous 8/17/2017 11:30:48 AM

New EP called "Last Days" will only hope to be a fraction as good as "Last Dayz".

anonymous 8/17/2017 11:52:37 AM

Bridge 9?

anonymous 8/17/2017 11:58:27 AM

I would rather listen to them then LAST LIGHT! That band is a joke.

anonymous 8/17/2017 12:06:54 PM

anonymous 8/17/2017 4:57:55 PM

finally! some good laughable comments from PC punks in the Lambgoat dot com comment section

anonymous 8/17/2017 5:02:50 PM

"They must know someone" yeah they must know someone from the west coast that's really from the east coast but has lived on the west coast for a while but grew up on the east coast and really draws legitimacy from that major factor of being born there instead of in the west

anonymous 8/17/2017 5:05:05 PM

I'm curious how long that dude's dick is. Because if it's like SUPER long, I might have to check these dudes out. Jus sayin

anonymous 8/17/2017 5:09:13 PM

So if they're from the east coast but live on the west coast and play east coast hardcore with west coast influences while sharing the stage with east coast bands are they just cancellimg themselves out and not playing at all?

anonymous 8/17/2017 5:11:31 PM

Finally a band from an ex member of Mouthpiece that doesn't sound like Mouthpiece

anonymous 8/17/2017 5:11:52 PM

I don't know like if they are from the east coast but they're playing on the west coast with major east coast influence but recorded and played on the west coast through it all they definitely have to be practicing on the east coast

anonymous 8/17/2017 5:14:41 PM

if y'all cant appreciate The Eulogy then go listen to your idol Tim McMahon from Mouthpiece and his wife Mama Cass choking on ham sandwiches to the tune of SSD

anonymous 8/17/2017 5:19:47 PM

Oh shit Mark Handerson is a guitar impresario. I'll be purchasing their newest extended play and hopefully seeing them at their concerts

anonymous 8/17/2017 5:21:50 PM

I love a good concert party

anonymous 8/17/2017 5:23:14 PM

Mark Handerson started hardcore and don't you dare forget it

anonymous 8/17/2017 5:35:12 PM

Those guys used to be in some good bands. It's too bad that the Eulogy is just another hair metal band.

anonymous 8/17/2017 9:59:45 PM

Hey guys, I'm the guy that they know and the reason I singed them is that I know them. You know... just wanted to clear that up.

anonymous 8/17/2017 10:08:24 PM

When I saw the empty room and the rainy faced little fellers in the semi circle looking so sad i gave them a huge signing bonus.

anonymous 8/18/2017 5:45:16 AM

"anonymous12 hours ago So if they're from the east coast but live on the west coast and play east coast hardcore with west coast influences while sharing the stage with east coast bands are they just cancellimg themselves out and not playing at all?" I think they just compromise and exclusively play the midwest

anonymous 8/18/2017 11:23:55 AM

Go check out a real East Coast band, EGODESTROYS! They just hooked up with Irish Voodoo, they must know someone too.

anonymous 8/18/2017 2:08:03 PM

Joe softcore

anonymous 8/18/2017 11:30:45 PM

How many lowes could rob lowe rob if rob lowe could rob lowes?

anonymous 8/19/2017 3:49:27 PM

Death Threat already had a "Last Days" demo. Much cooler than yours as well, because they called it "Last Dayz" How many more of these "super groups" are going to form? They do one album than disappear.

anonymous 8/19/2017 8:53:28 PM

So, what are they like the song name police, enforcement and protection agency of the united nations of troll bitches who post on lamb goat

anonymous 8/20/2017 6:07:45 AM

Why bridge 9 and not eulogy records?

anonymous 8/20/2017 9:21:29 PM

You mean Todd Youth not involved?

anonymous 8/21/2017 10:36:44 AM

No he was busy but Todd Bridges is. Todd is know for playing Willis Jackson on the sitcom Diff'rent Strokes and his recurring role as Monk on the sitcom Everybody Hates Chris. What people don't know is that while he was smoking crack when he was young he was the backup drummer for an early version Warzone.
