Grammys apologize to Metallica for awards show mishap

The producer of the Grammy Awards has offered an apology to Metallica for the technical issues that marred a portion of the band's performance with Lada Gaga last Sunday night. Specifically, the microphone for frontman James Hetfield was not working for most of the group's live rendition of their song "Moth Into Flame." A visibly annoyed Hetfield was "livid," according to drummer Lars Ulrich. "These kinds of things are horrible when they happen," producer Ken Ehrlich said in an interview with The Associated Press. "That's one of the risks of live television." "My guys say that the mic cable was connected," he said. "My guys' theory was that... one of the extras (on stage) accidentally kicked out the cable that went to the mic." "Obviously, we apologize to the band," Ehrlich summarized.

They shouldn't have agreed to play to begin with. It was the most cringeworthy thing I've ever seen. Lady Gagas awkward dancing, the "moshers" on stage, the Line 6 practice amp sounding guitar tone..horrible.

Cliff Burton's ghost has his revenge...

they should apologize to Hetfield in terms he can understand. "We're sorry, ooooh, yeah, yeah, for our slip up, yeah, yeah, yeah, shaaamon."

anonymous 2/16/2017 10:15:56 AM

Beyonce and Lady Gaga are more important and better musicians than Metallica

anonymous 2/16/2017 10:20:31 AM

Mic cables have a locking mechanism to keep them from just being 'kicked out'. This is a ridiculous explanation. And that idiot up above who said plugging in a mic pays 50k is out of their mind. I don't haev respect for the Grammys.

Metallica and Lady Gaga? That happened?

Rick____tocchet 2/17/2017 4:45:02 AM

Thats what they get

anonymous 2/17/2017 4:46:48 AM

Lady Gaga has had far more testosterone in her mouth than James and tard Ulrich combined.

anonymous 2/17/2017 4:50:39 AM

this band goes through bass players like the United States goes through presidents-they attain a new one every four years...

anonymous 2/17/2017 5:43:05 AM

anonymous21 hours ago Yeah, because theres a "mic guy" whos "one job" is plugging in a microphone. Yeah I want that job for a living. In californaia thats a 50k job ^in CA its a 50k a year union job protected by the National Association for the Advancement of Microphone Workers. The douche that let this happen to Metallica can't get fired just for being an idiot, that would be discrimination.

anonymous 2/17/2017 5:54:14 AM

I don't need an apology, I refused to watch it at all because of Lady Gaga was involved. I feel like nobody really watched anyways.

anonymous 2/17/2017 10:57:19 AM

Lars (Tard Ulrich) had a mouthful of Gaga's wrench backstage...

anonymous 2/18/2017 9:40:40 PM

I'd tap Gaga.

anonymous 2/21/2017 8:37:12 PM

... but are you "goo-goo" for "Gaga?"
