It's been six years since The Damned Things released their debut album, and it's been four years since we've last heard from the group, which features Keith Buckley (Every Time I Die), Scott Ian (Anthrax), and Andy Hurley (Fall Out Boy), among others. Thought by many to be defunct, the collective has actually written a new EP, though plans for its release have yet to materialize. Speaking via the "100 Words Or Less" podcast, Hurley had this to say:
"I recorded five songs for an EP with The Damned Things -- I don't think we'll be playing, Anthrax is still touring on their last record. ETID just put out their new record... uh, who else? Josh Newton, I think, has been playing lately. He tech'd for Joe [Trohman] for awhile; I'm not sure if he'll be back when we're back. So you know, that's all over the place."
