It's no secret that Eyehategod frontman Mike Williams has been dealing with health problems in recent months (peers and friends such as Phil Anselmo and Randy Blythe have been filling in on vocals for his band). With medical expenses mounting, members of Williams' family have now stepped forward to seek financial help via crowdfunding and in doing so, have detailed the seriousness of his condition. Amid Michelle Maher-Williams' thorough account of her husband's struggle is this telling excerpt:
"On October 10th, 2016, he was admitted to the CCU, vomiting blood. Along with internal bleeding, it was determined that his liver and kidneys were failing. He was placed on life support and dialysis. Through sheer grit and determination, he was eventually able to function on his own. We were told that he would not be leaving the hospital without a new liver. His case was presented before the board and he was approved for the transplant list. He's been hospitalized ever since."
